I started my master in Photonics in 2014, following a BSc in Engineering Physics (both at Ghent University). In the second year, I went on an exchange to the Polytechnic University of Valencia, where I also performed the work for my master thesis. During these two years, I gained a particular interest in nonlinear optics, photonic integration and telecommunication. The goal of my PhD project is to integrate several III-V components heterogeneously on either SOI or SiN targets to create a tunable terahertz beat note with low phase noise.
