Hongtao Chen received his master degree in "Electronics and Communication Engineering" from Institute of Semiconductor, Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) in July 2012. He worked on high-speed carrier-depletion/carrier-injection Si Mach-Zehnder optical modulators. From October 2012, he started to work towards a doctorate degree on advanced CMOS germanium p-i-n photodetectors and avalanche photodetectors for optical interconnects in Ghent University. He is fully involved in imec Optical I/O program (Belgium) supervised by Dr. Joris Van Campenhout and prof. Gunther Roelkens.
