Objective: - The Key objective of this project is to demonstrate the feasibility of a novel concept for monolithical integration of a DFB-laser with an optical isolator and to demonstrate that the resulting device is fully compatible with advanced telecommunication system requirements.
INTEC's Role: - The role of the photonics research group in the project is to design, (partly) fabricate and characterize both of the functional parts of the SOA-based isolator: the ferromagnetic magneto-optic contact layer and the underlying semiconductor optical amplifier
