Gino Priem was born in Veldegem, Belgium, in 1979. He received a degree in physical engineering from Ghent University, Gent, Belgium, in 2002, where he is currently working towards the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering.

His research interests include modelling, design and fabrication of nonlinear applications by means of resonators for ultrafast all-optical signal processing.
