Ecosystem

For some, the flexible study paths - to spread the program over multiple years - will still be too extensive, time-consuming or can not be taken due to work-life balance.
Therefore, we launched a Micro-credential: Photonic Integrated Circuits: from theory to practice and applications

Research in Photonics at Ghent University

Ghent Silicon Photonics Ecosystem

The UGent IOF Business Development Center of Center for Nano- and Biophotonics (NB-Photonics) is responsible for technology transfer and the valorization of research results in the field of photonics.
This results in a number of bilateral projects with companies but the ultimate aim is to transfer high-impact photonics technologies to companies and to create new spin-off companies; so far the following spin-off companies -with a focus on integrated photonics - are stablished..

  2023 Axithra
  2018 MEEP
    Sentea
  2016 Indigo Diabetes
  2014 Luceda Photonics
  2010 Caliopa
