Mr. Kilian Schwager (Doctoral Researcher)

Kilian Schwager received his B.Eng. in Electrical Engineering from DHBW Stuttgart in collaboration with Thales. After that he completed his M.Sc. in Photonic Engineering at University of Stuttgart. He did his master thesis in the Taminiau Lab at QuTech (TU Delft), where he designed and characterized overcoupled photonic crystal cavities for the V2 defect in 4H-SiC.
In 2026, he joined the Photonics Research Group of Ghent University - imec as a Ph.D. student in Photonics Engineering. His research is on integrated laser systems for neutral atom and trapped ion quantum computing.
