Installing boolean ------------------ 1. Log in as administrator 2. unzip boolean.zip c:\. It will extract a directory tree in c:\boolean 3. Now you have to set some system variable manually: 4. Right-click on 'My computer', select properties from the drop-down menu 5. Select the tab 'Advanced' 6. Click 'environment variables' 7. In the 'system variables' add a variable named 'GDSROOT', and add the path 'c:\boolean\6.2' (or the equivalent directory) 8. Edit the variable 'path' and add 'c:\boolean\6.2\win32\bin' 9. The executable is also located in that path. Use the explorer to create a shortcut to the desktop or the start menu If you cannot log in as administrator, you can set the GDSROOT variable as a user variable instead of a system variable. However, you will not be able to change the path. Notes. - At startup you will always get an error message. Ignore it. - Do not use the 'open' button on the toolbar. Instead, use the menu command to open GDSII or KEY files - There is an error in the GDS save functionality. In the same directory is an executable with the name 'corrgds' You can use it to correct the error: 'corrgds inputfile outputfile' You can do this from the DOS prompt if your path is set correctly (see installation notes above)
