3. Gratings

The python-user-interface-syntax (see the rodis_ui.py file) hides the distinct gratings which RODIS uses. Depending on the settings, the ui will chose an aproppriate grating. Those are discused in this chapter

Three conditions decide what grating will be used:

• Dimension (1D or 2D)
• Incident angle (priciple plane or conical)
• Lossy (material with complex refractive index?)
